Alexander Gordon, a Londoner of Scottish heritage who founded a distillery in Southwark, created Gordons London Dry Gin in 1769. The distillery now produces in Clerkenwell, Scotland, from London. Alexander Gordon’s Dry Gin formula was so effective that it remains unchanged today and is known to only twelve persons.
Gordon’s London Dry Gin, the world’s best-selling gin, has expanded rapidly. It is owned by British spirits corporation Diageo and created in Cameron Bridge Distillery in Fife, Scotland. Gin experts have voted it the best for over 250 years.
Gordon’s square-faced bottle is renowned worldwide and has been the UK’s favorite gin since the 19th century. It won Double Gold at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SWSC).
